Hey Reader,

I hope you're enjoying glorious fall weather no matter where you are! We've been having a warm spell here in the midwest but we're starting to see some beautiful foliage.

I've mostly been enjoying it from my porch while I work through all of the cool things I learned about at my recent work meetup in Washington. One of the most interesting things about this line of work I've chosen is the wide-ranging skill set it forces me to acquire... writer, researcher, editor, graphic designer, social media manager, email marketer, travel planner, occasionally even accountant. But I'm looking forward to adding a few more hats to my job description - stay tuned!

In case you haven't been bombarded with ads for it, Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days starts now. Be sure you're just buying the things you need but I wanted to point out a few of our travel must-haves that you can grab at a discount today:

  • Anti-theft backpack - I know I've shared deals on this backpack before, but the black one is now (as of when I'm sending this email) a fraction of what I originally paid - marked down to $25!!! I'm honestly shocked by the price and can't recommend it enough but I'm sure that price won't last long. Especially at the current price, it would make a great holiday gift for someone who will be heading overseas soon.
  • Apple AirTags - Essential if you have an Apple device and plan to check your luggage, but I also use them in our backpacks and sometimes on the kids. This is close to the best price I've ever seen.
  • Amazon Fire HD10 - We have this version and it packs a high-res screen, plenty of internal storage plus extra RAM for smooth operation currently half price... but if you have ever purchased an older Fire tablet, check the product page for an "upgrade offer". Apparently I'm eligible to save another $15 as an existing Fire user! I haven't seen that on Amazon before.
  • Dream Trips of the World - Need some inspiration for your next trip? This awesome book doesn't just show you a bucket list, but tells you when to go, how long to stay, what to do and more. Great for a holiday gift or your own coffee table, especially at half price.
  • Portable phone battery pack - We own a few of these and use them constantly - they plug right in to the phone without any cables
  • Universal travel adapter - We use this every day at home and on every trip - it really cuts down on packing for electronics thanks to the variety of charging ports and international compatibility - I use the 100W version because it directly charges my laptop.
  • Traveler's Choice spinner luggage - We own these in both the 22" and 26" sizes and they're real workhorses at a bargain price; the internal organization is excellent. It's been a few years since I saw the 22" at a much cheaper price point, but there are a bunch of new colors that look awesome!
  • Compression packing cubes - This set is a great value and our family fights over them now; pink and black are the least expensive.
  • Bubblebum inflatable booster seat - Got an elementary schooler you plan to travel with? Grab this crash-tested inflatable booster seat to keep them safe on every ride. It weighs almost nothing and rolls up small when deflated so you can take it around town with you for those unexpected Uber rides.
  • Lightweight binoculars - These are compact and light enough that we travel with them any time we plan on wildlife experiences

Remember: Take advantage of the deals to spend less money for the things you need, but don't go crazy on items that will collect dust just because it's a good price.

Happy shopping!

Melissa
