December 2025

Hey Reader,

Thanks again for being here with us at The Family Voyage. I hope you are able to enjoy the long weekend in a way that lifts your spirits. As I've mentioned before, November is typically my only "no travel" month of the year so we're thrilled to have our family come to us!

I'll keep this short and sweet since I know your inbox is flooded right now. Those of you who have been following for a while know that I love gear of all types - backpacks, camera, travel clothes, electronics... you name it. I'm also finding amazing deals on travel itself, including hotels, activities and more. But the important things is only spend on stuff you truly love.

Here are my hand-picked deals I want to highlight so that you don't miss them:

Travel and experiences

  • Viator - My favorite tour/activity booking platform is giving you up to $75 off when you use coupon FALL2025, plus you can get another $50 and 20% back when you sign up here for Rakuten and click through before booking. If you have an Amex card, check your offers because I'm seeing a $35 discount in my account that stacks on top of those other discounts.
  • Expedia - There are some surprisingly good deals on hotels and packages this weekend (for example, a super popular hotel in Waikiki at $138 per night). If you're flexible on where/when you go then definitely check this sale!
  • Flytographer gift cards - 20% off gift cards to a photo session on your next trip (you can gift these to a family member or save them for yourself!)
  • Undercover Tourist - Great deals on Disney World and Disneyland (both tickets and package) from my favorite theme park specialist! Because they're technically a travel agent, you can charge this to a Capital One Venture X and "erase" the purchase with points - one of the best hacks to save on Disney trips. Also check your Venture X for a targeted offer of up to 50,000 extra points if you spend $1,000 (scroll down on the main page right after you log in); that's worth $500 minimum πŸ‘€
  • Epic Pass - While this isn't strictly "Black Friday", if you plan to ski this winter be sure to check the pricing on the Epic Pass before they stop selling next week. We snagged great deals on their day pass option.

Travel gear

  • 4-pack of Apple AirTags - This is the cheapest price I've ever seen
  • Luggage - It's arguably the best day of the year to buy new luggage, you'll find great sales from Traveler's Choice (we have this set and love it but the colors are even better now), Monos, Away, Level8 (check out that handle!) and TravelPro (this one is super popular for its weight and currently 40% off)
  • Packing cubes - We picked up this set a few months ago (for more money) and it's quickly become a household favorite
  • Universal power adapter - I use this 100W adapter 365 days a year, all over the world, and it's a great price today!

For the kids

Odds & ends

I try to keep things really travel focused, but there are a few things our family loves that I want to share too since they're on sale

  • Skylight calendar - We recently got this wall-mounted digital calendar/organizer and it's been a huge help! The kids can see the family calendar, keep track of daily tasks and chores, everyone can see what's for dinner and more.
  • Goodr sunglasses - This is a great weekend to pick up some really fun super giftable sunglasses. There are a million options from vibrant colors to sports teams to National Parks.

If you have any questions or aren't sure what to get, feel free to reply to me so I can help you out!

Best,

Melissa

Spoiler alert: check your inbox next week for something very cool 🎧 But there's one piece of news in the travel world this week that I'm really excited about and I want to make sure to give you all the details.
